Action Center is a feature on Windows 10 that combines system and app notifications and puts them into a single interface that can easily be accessed through the taskbar, so you’ll never miss any important alert anymore. Action Center also hosts the quick actions buttons to help you get access to your most-used settings and apps quickly.
However, the experience may not be a functionality for everyone, if you happen not to have any use for it, you can easily disable using the settings app.
In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to disable Action Center on Windows 10.
How to disable Action Center using Settings
- Open Settings.
- Click on Personalization.
- Click on Taskbar.
- Under “Notification area,” click the “Turn system icons on or off”.
- Turn off the Action Center toggle switch.
Disable the Windows 10 Action Center from taskbar
It’s worth pointing out that disabling or removing the Action Center doesn’t stop the toasts notifications from showing up. To disable toasts notifications, go to Settings > Notifications & actions, and under Notifications, disable the type of notifications you want to disable or turn off the Get notifications from apps and other senders toggle switch to disable all notifications.
While you won’t see the Action Center button in the notification area, if you ever need to access your notifications, you can always use the Windows key + A keyboard shortcut.
